Northwestern Corner of the Azarah
Note the empty area just outside the northwestern corner of the Azarah. The Gemorah in Pesachim mentions that when the amount of people attending Rabban Yochanan Ben Zakai's shiur was overflowing, he was forced to find a place large enough to accommodate everyone. He would then "sit in the shade of the Heichal and sit and teach the entire day". The lighting and shadow in this picture demonstrate clearly how it was possible for him to have a large shady area, near the heichal, for him to teach.
