(Composed in Israel during the "Gulf War")
To the tune of "Sound of Silence"
Hello Beis Midrash my old friend
We've come to learn in you again,
about the Torah that we hold so dear,
And about Hashem Whom we should fear,
Awakening Dormant roots thaat lie deep
inside our soul,
That's our Goal
The sound of Torah
People swaying (shaking) to and fro,
Praying to Hashem, Whom they hardly know,
As the missles fly in the air,
And they give our hearts a scare
And the "Patriots" we can't put our faith in them,
Only in Hashem
The sound of Torah
Thirty Bochurim, maybe more,
All studying the Holy Law
All yearning to get close to You,
To learn how to be a true Jew,
To awaken dormant roots deep inside our soul
That's our goal
The sound of Torah
And our eyes fill with tears,
Trying to make up for all those years,
That we tried to run away from You,
We didn't know how to be a Jew,
But now Torah and Tefilah lie deep inside our soul
That's our goal
The sound of Torah
We remember how we strayed,
And to the false money gods we prayed
Now we know what's really true,
And we yearn to come back to You
Please help us uncover the truth
From deep inside our soul
That's our goal
The sound of Torah
And as the siren blows
And to the saferooms everybody goes
And when we put on our mask
There's just one thing that we ask
Hashem, please help us find You
Deep inside our soul,
That's our goal,
The sound of Torah
The flame of Torah in us will always burn,
And to get closer to you we'll forever yearn,
We'll never leave the Torah behind,
It will always be on our mind,
And we'll never forget in whatever we do,
To be a good Jew
The sound of Torah
Goodbye Beis Midrash my old friend,
The year is almost coming to an end
But you don't have to fear
We hope to be back next year
To continiue to uncover the truth
From deep inside our soul,
That's our goal
The sound of Torah
Let me tell you my good friend
Moshiach is coming at the end
And if we really care
Then we'll try to prepare
And awaken the dormant roots
Deep inside our soul
That should be our goal
The sound of Torah
